Tattoo Designs

Tattoo Designs
When choosing a tattoo design there are several factors that a person needs to take into consideration before they even begin the process. First off they have to find a reputable tattoo parlor. They should have experienced tattoo artist in their employment and you should to get references on them. The parlor or studio should also use disposable needles. Once a tattoo design has been inked into a person’s skin the needles should go in the trash. Another factor to consider before having ink done is whether you want to use the ready made tattoo flash or you want something custom made. The latter usually adds a bit more to the price tag, so that’s something you should take into consideration. Finally before the tattoo needles even gets pressed to your skin you have to consider how you’ll feel about this tattoo a few years from now. A tattoo that is purely for humor’s sake or that was done in the spur of the moment may later lead you to tattoo regret. Then your only recourse is too have the tattoo covered with another design or have it surgically removed. The latter can be a time consuming and expensive process.

Tattoo Crosses

Tattoo Crosses
Here we have a clean and simple, and recently tattooed, Gothic iron cross tattoo. Many tattoo crosses can have a clutter and other images mixed up with them but I tend to admire the cleanliness of this one. This simple cross is basic to the Gothic Iron Cross but is rendered in a thick-and-thin beveled line that lends itself well to the tattoo medium. The stark simplicity is its most memorable attribute. It is also meant to stand for a dagger of a type, a dagger for God’s work if you will, and that is why it has a point at its bottom.

This is a very sharp looking gothic cross and I like it very much. I am the type of person who likes very slick, clean lines and for me the simpler something is, the better. If I were out and about and looking to get myself any kind of cross tattoo put on myself this is exactly what I would get. Because after seeing all of the tattoo crosses I have seen, and believe me, I have seen a lot of them, this one is what appeals to me the most.

Tattoo Crosses
This is a whole selection of different tattoo crosses. The style that a person may be interested in depends on their personality and the meaning they attribute to the designs. Since their are so many tattoo crosses to choose from, let me give you a rundown of the two most popular ones. It’s a good starting point for your research. The Latin Cross is highly recognizable in the world of tattoos, as it is comprised of a vertical line intersected at right angles by a shorter horizontal line positioned around 1/3 of the way from the top. This uncomplicated design is often associated with Christianity and is frequently used to pay tribute to others. One of the most attractively designed crosses is the Celtic selection, where a knot is created in the space where both lines cross. The Gothic Cross mirrors the German style of elaborate wrought iron work displayed during the Edwardian and Victorian periods. This type of cross is often used to express pain, anger, and the Goth culture. Many designs associated with the Gothic Cross utilize dark imagery, such as barbed wire and daggers. Now, that you have a little background you can do a search on the internet and see if those are the designs you like and maybe even find a few more.

Hawaiian Tattoos

Hawaiian Tattoos
Hawaiian Tattoos come in many different types and styles. Some of the more popular Hawaiian designs could be put either in the naturalistic or abstract genres. Of course the abstract designs are almost exclusively of a tribal nature. But, that’s because tribal designs actually originated in the Hawaiian Islands. Look at the Hawaiian tattoo listed here. On one side of the design is a traditional tribal design, something that you see on a fairly regular basis. I especially like the dark colors and the thin quality of the lines. You don’t see that too often in tribal tattoos but it’s something that is very commonly seen among Hawaiian tattoos. Most tribal designs have thick and heavy strokes to the lines, which makes them appear heavier. But, these pencil thin lines have a light and almost airy quality to them. Now, the design element on the right is something I’m not too familiar with. It could be some kind of ancient religious artifact or maybe even a medallion for protection. I’m not entirely sure. But, it does seem to blend in very nicely. I can surely see adding other elements to this design, however. Maybe some sea turtles or flowers. That would be a nice touch.
Hawaiian Tattoos
The Hawaiian tattoo in the picture is very dramatic and stylistic. But, is that the type of design you think of when someone says Hawaiian tattoo? Probably not. In most peoples minds, Hawaiian tattoos consist of flowery or colorful designs. What a lot of people don’t realize is that Hawaiian tattoos can also contain a tribal element. As a fact, tribal tattoos were most likely invented by the inhabitants of these Pacific islands. Most of the Hawaiian body tattoos were from tribal traditions, as is the case in the picture. Actually the Hawaiian tattoo in the picture is probably more characteristic of these type of designs. The floral and flashy designs are often the result of designs inspired to attract tourist and not be representative of the Hawaiian culture. So, if you fly over to the Islands then venture away from the tourist trap tattoo parlors. Strike out on a less traveled path. Find a traditional Hawaiian tattoo artist and let him give you a design that is rich in culture and heritage and is a true representation of Hawaiian culture and society. That way when you get home you have something truly unique and quite special.

Animal Tattoos

Animal Tattoos
Since the beginning of time people have always had the passion to put animal tattoos on their bodies. During a hunt they would tattoo the prize animal they caught onto their bodies, this would show superior power to the rest of the tribe. Most of the chiefs were usually the best hunters and they would end up with the top kills and that was the tiger or the leopard. So when you see animal tattoos of tiger heads you know exactly where everything started. Now days the tiger head means the person is a leader and that he leads by showing strength and stamina.
If you see animal tattoos with the leopard head it means stealth and wise. Lots of people in the southern states especially Alabama and Florida have the bear as part of their tattoos and that means this person is someone that won’t back down from nothing. No matter what animal you have tattooed on your body their is always some kind of meaning behind it. No matter what don’t use the skunk in your tattoos, you will lose all sorts of respect from whoever you run into. So keep it in mind to always use the bear or the tiger, it will make you look respectful.

Animal Tattoos
Animal tattoos come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They can be representatives of tiny creatures such as tree frogs, rabbits and snakes. Or they can depict larger animals such as horses, bears and elephants. These animal tattoos can be done realistically, true representations of the animals or merely as symbolic elements in a larger design. Animal tattoos can also encapsulate mythological beast such as the unicorn, dragon and phoenix. But, no matter what animal tattoo you choose it should be an accurate representation of your personality or your belief system. Perhaps you want an animal tattoo that states that you are fierce and loyal. That would be the wolf. Or perhaps your looking for a design that states that you are wise and cunning. That could be represented by the coyote. No matter what you choose as your design you need to keep one thing in the forefront of your mind. And that’s the permanence of tattoos. Whatever you choose, remember it’s going to be on your skin for the rest of your natural life. So go out there and choose an animal tattoo that best fits you and your lifestyle.
